SIDE 2
7. Getaway.
A song written after a visit to the Caribbean where a story of how you could still be hanged on some islands was told. From a tourist point of view, it maybe swaying music, beautiful beaches and all day drinking but there are still some crimes there where the highest price is to be paid if you are a local.
8. Show Me The Way To Your Heart.
A tribute to the lovers rock tracks from back in the day. When it was okay to tell someone how you truly felt without the internet guiding you or interpreting what you actually mean. Inspired by and a tribute to Carol Thompson, Peter Hunnigale, Louisa Mark, Maxi Priest, Sandra Cross, Janet Kay and the many more who just made you want to hold your partner tight.
9. Same Old Game.
Track inspired by the percussion tricks of Prince and his love of using the falsetto vocal. The guitar solo is also his to claim for its use of the sustain note. Very much a pop song with a funky edge most definitely one pluck from Princes garden.
10. The Party’s Over.
One Line defined this song ‘As dark hours follow, early light brings a new tomorrow’.Three different points of view of a situation. Inspired by UB40’s ‘The Pillow’ and Judie Tzuke’s Stay With Me Till Dawn.
11. Happy Within Myself.
Lyrically the song subject matter is about addiction and how some people can instead of helping, make it worse. They may realise this fact but don’t care how far down the rabbit hole you are as it suits their needs. Having the drums and guitar announce the opening paints the chaos of a mind in such a place.
12 Still In Love With You.
Born out of a love for Thin Lizzy’s 1978 Live And Dangerous original version and Sade’s 2011 cover of it. A simple love song from a broken heart.
